Winkler Library Plans to Renovate Its Rear Area for Enclosed Reading Garden Set up

The Winkler Library is planning a new addition of an enclosed reading garden. Almost $50,000 is expected to be raised to transform an unused space behind the building into a library garden.

This garden will be a place for outdoor programs with kids, and children can move around the garden during outdoor Storytime sessions.

The garden space will also be helpful for the community groups who can easily rent it for their outdoor meetings.

The necessary fund collection targeting $50,000 began with the book sale last month. Now, they are heading for a raffle this July featuring a range of prizes donated by local businesses.

Visit the library branch by next month for details.

Supporters of the Winkler Library Reading Garden can call at 204-325-7174 or visit the branch, or can make their donation online at scrl.mb.libraries.coop (under “Fund,” choose “Winkler Branch”).
